Some members of ROF who attended the 75th Anniversary of DDAY Dinner in Normandy.

History, Fun, and lots of delicious Food

Last weekend ROF members ventured into the green pastures of Normandy to partake in a special moment of rememberence and celebration of friendship.

Before arriving for dinner, some of our members eplored the beautiful city of Rouen to discover the beautiful cathedral and enjoy a leisurly lunch.

Later in day, our dear hosts and members Jean Vincent and Fanny welcomed us to their historical home that many visiting Americans have coined "The White House of France".  Upon entering the gates, we found a WWII American Jeep!  Of course the children couldn't wait to have their turn in the drivers seat (Me too, actually).

Our hosts prepared a copious apéro complete with local delights and of course, champagne.  We were joined by special guests French Senator Goulet and Both the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Logny-au-Perche.  Once all the guests arrived we headed to the table.  What a setting!  What a meal!  A perfectly french planned delight to be matched with the lively discussions.

Senator Goulet generously took time to stay and enjoy the meal with us, sharing  some of her experiences in the French Senate.  In her remarks, she spoke highly of the relationship between the US and France and the importance of our alliance.

Lest we forget.  DDAY.

Vive l'Amité Franco-Américaine.
